How it works

4 steps, start to finish

  1. 1

    Send invites

From the dashboard, CSV, API, or MCP — they all land on the board.

  2. 2

    Watch them move

Pending to Clear or Records found as reports are released.

  3. 3

    Act on what needs it

Open Records-found reports and adverse-action cases from their columns.

  4. 4

    Re-screen on schedule

Expiring and Lapsed columns surface who's due, with a link to order the next check.

Why it matters

What you get with hiring board

Always current

Columns are computed from live check status, not manual updates.

Re-screen reminders

Set an interval and the board flags who's coming due and who has lapsed.

Adverse action in view

Open cases get their own column so nothing sits in a waiting period unnoticed.

Notifications in one bell

The dashboard bell lists invite, report, and adverse-action notices, so status changes reach you without refreshing the board.

Role-aware

The board shows status only. Opening report content still depends on each person's role and report access.

From invite to re-screen, without a spreadsheet

Small teams usually track background checks in a spreadsheet that's out of date the moment someone finishes an invite. The PreHireBadge status board is built from the checks themselves, so it's always current.

Pending holds invites that haven't produced a report yet. Clear and Records found hold finished reports. Adverse action open holds any check with an active case. If your company sets a re-screen interval, Clear checks move to Expiring within 30 days of the due date and to Lapsed once it has passed — with a link to order the next check.

The board shows status, never a verdict. Opening a report still depends on your role.

FAQ

Questions employers ask about hiring board

Still unsure? Ask Peter, our assistant, in the bottom-right corner, or browse the help center.

What do the board columns mean?

Pending (no report yet), Clear, Records found, Adverse action open, Expiring (re-screen due within 30 days), and Lapsed (re-screen date passed).

How do I set a re-screen interval?

Owners and admins set it on the company profile. Clear checks then move to Expiring and Lapsed based on that interval.

Is re-screening automatic?

No. The board flags who's due and links to order a new check. Each re-screen is a new $5 invite the candidate completes.

Does the board say who passed?

No. PreHireBadge never labels anyone pass, fail, or eligible.

Do API, CSV, and MCP orders show up on the board?

Yes. The board is built from the company's checks, however they were ordered.

Your next candidate is one $5 report away.

No credit card to sign up, no expiration on what you buy. Run one report for $5, or stock up with the 10-pack for $45 and use them whenever hiring picks up.
