Disputes and responses

A response to you is not a dispute with the CRA

The candidate can write to you and can dispute the file with ScreenForge Labs. Those are different acts.

After a pre-adverse notice, a person may send you a statement or a file about the job. Separately, that person may tell the consumer reporting agency that something in the report is wrong. This lesson is educational and is not legal advice. PreHireBadge keeps those paths apart. A statement on the status page does not, by itself, open a dispute. Only a ScreenForge Labs event does that.

Not a license

PreHireBadge Academy courses are free and educational. Completing a course or earning a certificate is not legal advice, not a professional license, and not a legal credential. Laws change. Read the cited sources and ask a qualified attorney about your own hiring decision.
Response Dispute Clock
A response is reviewed by you. A dispute is opened by ScreenForge. The clock moves only on that event.
